Fires, Blackouts and Toxic Air: This Is Climate Change in California

If climate change was a somewhat abstract notion a decade ago, today it is all too real for Californians living through the worst year of fires on record.

Officials have worried about a cascade effect, in which a series of disasters overlap. They just did not think it would start so soon.
